Ricklundgården presents

18 August, 2026

Ricklundgården proudly presents Ida Cosini and Tove Gulliksson, art students currently based in Umeå.

Ida is originally from Haninge, and Tove is from Sundsvall.
Both are here on a residency grant from the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts, where they are studying in the Bachelor’s program for Fine Arts.
Ida works in a multidisciplinary way using found materials. Her practice is rooted in textile techniques and painting, and she collects artifacts.
Tove’s work often stems from her own painting practice; she frequently creates her own paints and materials. She enjoys delving into archives, history, and the environment, exploring how the past can be used to shape a better future. Waterways are close to her heart.

“My plan for the time at Ricklundgården is to make use of artifacts I find on-site. It’s wonderful to have the focus and time to work right here, right now. My understanding of my own work has become clearer during my time here,” says Ida. “I’ve found specific things here that aren’t as abundant elsewhere. I draw a lot of inspiration from Emma Ricklund’s textile works.”

“What drew me to Ricklundgården is the legacy of the artists who have been here before—especially the older painters from Northern Sweden—and the local art history. I’m thinking about what I can gain from what has already been created here. At the same time, I’ve been delving into the subject of hydroelectric power and the regulation of the lake and waterways, taking photos and documenting everything,” says Tove. “I really enjoy digging through old archives and following in the footsteps of the Northern Swedish painters.”

We at Ricklundgården are grateful for the excellent collaboration with @academyoffinearts_umea, and it has been a pleasure having Ida and Tove as our guests!
