Ricklundgården proudly presents Mattias Edwall.
Mattias is based in Stockholm and has been working as a photographer for 40 years.

He photographs people almost exclusively and feels privileged to have met so many fascinating individuals over the years.
“I grew up in an artistic family where it was natural for everyone to pursue whatever career they wanted, and where anything seemed possible.”
My mother worked in radio drama as a director, producer, and editor. My father was an actor, director, writer, and singer-songwriter.

I think the best part of being a photographer is meeting people. I applied for the residency in Saxnäs because my girlfriend, Eva, had been here before and recommended that I apply. I want to see what happens when I capture my immediate surroundings; for me, it is both an inspiration and a challenge…
