Dinnerclub in October

We are extending the application period for all three studios belonging to Ricklundgården’s residence until Sunday, April 13.

We have received a really good number of applications, but it is a bit unfortunate that this round there has been a really high application pressure and a large concentration in the autumn months, so we encourage interested parties to also apply at other times of the year.

It is still possible to apply to Folkes Ateljé October, December 2025 and June and August 2026.
A little scattered opportunities in the Annex and the Writer’s Cottage. Please fill in 3 possible time options in the application form.

Before you fill out the application form, carefully read our regulations, which can be found on our website under “ART IN RESIDENCE” < APPLICATION. The application must be sent digitally as a PDF BEFORE April 13, 2025 to our email: info.ricklundgarden@gmail.com Responses to all artists will be sent out in the latter part of May. • The final decision will be made in communication with the artist and the organization (well in advance) before the estimated arrival. • New for this year is that it is also possible to apply to our Writer's Cottage during certain months of the year. • A warm welcome with your application!

Together, Ilar and Anna-Karin have had a residency in Folke’s studio during the month of March.

Ilar has worked with landscape pictures during her time at Ricklundgården. She has experimented with beeswax as a surface treatment on photographs.
“- I have two different themes in my art, one is more political if I think something is wrong or unfair in society. The other is landscape pictures, which have become almost like meditation.
I have tried to get away from the fact that as a photographer you have to do things a certain way when framing photos. Now I only use wood and beeswax.”

Anna-Karin works with a technique where charcoal is always the basis.
“- Based on four directions and ideas, I have tested and explored what I should continue to work with. Sometimes you have to end up in the stage where you stand completely still, in order to then move on.”

Ilar is and works as a photographer and artist. Anna-Karin is an artist and works as a nurse.
•
We at Ricklundgården are extremely grateful and happy that Ilar Gunilla and Anna-Karin have chosen to come to us. Their energy and passion for art is contagious. We would like to thank all participants for the very interesting and moving Artist Talk last Thursday!

Since March 16th, the artist duo has been working in Annexet with the project, working title: Deavam / The Memory of the Place.

The project is about depicting the stories of different places and territories through yarn and the body. “In previous work, we have dyed yarn from four different places that are important to our family’s history around Vilhelmina and Åsele municipality.”
– “During the time that the residency at Ricklundgården has taken place, we have sketched, planned and tested ideas for the work that will be created.
The work will consist of a fabric, choreography and soundscape by Cicely Irvine when it is ready.”

Linnea works as a freelance dancer and choreographer based in Stockholm.
Ida-Isak is a textile artist based in Luleå and Övertorneå.

We at Ricklundgården are very happy and proud to have hosted this artist duo during these weeks in varying beautiful spring and winter weather.
