You have walked up the stairs and entered through the door of the museum. You are now standing here in this 40’s villa. The floor you are standing on is a floor mosaic consisting of approximately 20,000 joined birch rods mixed with reindeer horns and other natural materials. In the darker shades of the motif you can see a otter that has been depicted in his hunt for a salmon. Is it perhaps a symbol of a circle that never ends. The constant struggle for survival and to carry on it’s legacy. Because that’s exactly what Emma has done, she has passed on her legacy and the museum, it’s worth experiencing.
It is time to raise your sight and move on, because there is so much more to see. The house is exciting with both exotic objects and objects from its own culture. As we walk through the rooms, the character constantly changes and the decor is inspiring. It is a unique personal environment. Where art of various kinds is mixed with Emma’s home-woven textiles that adorn sofas, beds and walls.
